in which music, image, sound and movement
interact with each other, melding into one.
MANTA is an installation inspired by the striking visual presence of the Manta ray and its movements through the ocean. It is a kinetic installation and performance in which music, image, sound and movement interact with each other, melding into one.
The installation will be a collaboration between the percussionist, the cellist, the singer and the audience.
Together they become the performance. It uses glass art, wood and textile to give the installation form. The music is based on old and contemporary music as well as polyrhythmic compositions which interact with the installation and the improvisation of the audience. Repetition of sound forms the foundation of the journey.
This sonic installation offers a safe and comforting environment that triggers exploration, wonder and play. Although MANTA is aimed at little ones between 4 and 24 months, it offers joy to both young and old.
Children from ages 4 to 24 months.
